Aqualogía, Aquona's environmental awareness program, returns completely adapted to the digital environment

This online version, which is carried out by connecting directly with educational centers, was a great success last year, during which more than 1,800 students from Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León participated.

Education, technology and sustainability. These are the three fundamental bases of Aqualogía, the environmental education program that Aquona has been implementing for 8 years in Primary classrooms in the municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León.

Coinciding with World Environmental Education Day, the company responsible for the sustainable management of the water cycle and resources in 130 municipalities of both autonomous communities announces the return of this project, which is already the cornerstone of its commitment to raising awareness and the involvement of the younger generations in caring for water and the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

As was already carried out during the 2020-201 academic year, the Aqualogy application is completely adapted to the digital environment in order to guarantee access to all content and teaching resources, whether at school or from home. “Although the availability of the contents is total, what we propose is a hybrid model, in which the schools make an online connection with a specialized monitor to be able to do the workshop live and direct and involve the students in games and experiments”, explains Laura de Vega, Director of Sustainable Development at Aquona. In this way, "we manage to guide the little ones through the journey that water takes from the moment it is captured, reaches our homes and is later returned to the natural environment in perfect condition and/or reused," adds de Vega.

This year, as a novelty, new tutorial videos have been introduced that are added to other aspects related to action on climate change and sustainability, with interactive games, experiments and challenges posed by the Aqualogy characters.

Aqualogía's hybrid model was already a complete success last year with 95 workshops in which more than 1,800 primary school children from schools in Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León participated.
