Aquona, awarded the ‘Best Social Action’ during the ceremony of the XIII “Castilla y León Económica” Awards

The prize for ‘Best Social Action’ is the result of the contribution of workers, municipalities and social entities that have made Aquona a benchmark in the water sector from efficiency, commitment to people and sustainability.

Aquona has received the award for ‘Best Social Action’ granted annually by Castilla y León Económica magazine. The Director of Sustainable Development of Aquona, Laura de Vega, surrounded by a representation of the entire team, was responsible for collecting this recognition at an event held yesterday in the Auditorium I of the Fair of Valladolid, before hundreds of people linked to the business and social world of the community. The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, was in charge of closing the event that in 2019 has added its XIII edition.

The 50 years that Aquona has been committed to people and sustainability through water management have led this company to be recognized among the 71 nominations that have been presented to the awards. A commitment that translates into a sum of initiatives included in the Aquona 2030 Strategic Plan, aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals and through which it contributes to the fight against climate change, preservation and access to water , the protection of biodiversity, social advances in the human right to water, equity and health in all the municipalities where Aquona is present.
