Aquona and its foundation are committed to the labor inclusion of people with disabilities.
Aquona and its foundation, the Aquae Foundation, support the ONCE Foundation's ‘Opportunity for Talent’ Scholarship Program for the fourth consecutive year with the financing of two scholarships, one for international mobility and the other for postgraduate studies. The objective of this program is the university training, specialization and academic career of university students with disabilities and to promote their labor inclusion in technical and highly qualified jobs. The deadline to apply for both scholarships ends on September 30.
The objective of the international mobility scholarship is to promote the presence of students with disabilities in exchange programs with foreign universities to improve their education, professional skills and language training. This scholarship is aimed at undergraduate or equivalent and master's degree students enrolled or pre-registered at an officially recognized university or university institution. Those interested will have to prove a B2 level of knowledge of the language in which the course will be taught. Its financial endowment is 6,000 euros.
The postgraduate scholarship, valued at 3,000 euros, will allow students with disabilities, who can prove that they have a degree related to the environment and / or water, to expand their training in these disciplines.
All students and university graduates who have Spanish nationality and a legally recognized disability equal to or greater than 33% can apply for the ‘Opportunity to Talent’ scholarships through the form http://becas.fundaciononce.es
According to the report 'Employment of people with disabilities' (2018) of the National Institute of Statistics, the most remarkable thing about this group is their low participation in the labor market: 25.2% were unemployed in 2018, which means 10.1 points more than the population without disabilities (15.1%).
The ‘Opportunity for Talent’ program is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) within the framework of the ESF Operational Program for Social Inclusion and Social Economy 2014-2020.
As a result of the agreement established in 2013 between Fundación Aquae and Fundación ONCE, the volume of workers with a disability who work in the local brands of the Suez group already exceeds the 2% that the law establishes for public or private companies that have a superior workforce 50 employees.
