The City Council of Segovia and Aquona promote a new edition of the Aqualogía educational program
It is expected that more than 550 students from all schools in the city participate in this course
Educating in environmentally and socially responsible values is one of the challenges shared between the City Council of Segovia and Aquona, a company that manages water treatment in the city. To achieve this, both promote initiatives such as Aqualogía, an educational program that for the second consecutive year will reach the classrooms of Segovia with the purpose of bringing the water cycle to schoolchildren, while raising awareness about the need to take care of this Essential resource for life.
Aqualogy is expected to reach more than 550 Primary students from the 16 educational centers in the city. The workshops will begin in February and are expected to be extended throughout the quarter, as explained today at a press conference by the mayor of Segovia, Clara Luquero; the Councilor for Works and Services, Miguel Merino; the Councilor for Education, Ana Peñalosa and the manager of Aquona in Segovia, Javier del Sol.
Aqualogía provides students with knowledge about the environment, as well as skills, capacity for evaluation and participation with respect to the environmental problems of their environment. In addition, it offers them the necessary tools to become aware and have a concrete attitude towards the surrounding environment through environmental values.
Projects such as Aqualogía are part of the strategy that Aquona promotes jointly with the City of Segovia to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the city, promoting, in this case, the number 12 responsables Responsible Production and Consumption ’.
